Fire and water bowls from American makers
A fire and water bowl burns a gas flame on top while water pours from a scupper or spillway into the pool below. It is the signature piece of a modern pool, and every bowl here comes from Prism Hardscapes, Fire by Design or Slick Rock Concrete, cast in concrete or GFRC and finished by hand, for natural gas or propane.

Fire and water bowl questions
What does a fire and water bowl connect to?
Two lines. A gas line feeds the burner, and a water line from your pool's circulation system feeds the spillway or scupper. Your pool contractor plumbs the water side, and a licensed gas technician connects the burner.
Will the water put out the flame?
No. The burner sits in the center of the bowl under fire media, and the water leaves through a spillway or scupper on the side, so the flame and the water stay apart.
Can I run the water without the fire?
The water side runs with your pool pump and the fire runs on its own gas valve or ignition, so many owners use the water feature by day and add the flame at night. Your pool and gas installers set up the controls for your system.
Is electronic ignition a good choice by a pool?
It is popular, because the bowl lights from a switch, a remote or the pool's control system instead of reaching over the water with a lighter. Electronic ignition needs 120V power at the bowl. Match-lit models with a key valve need no power.
