How Much Fire Glass do I Need?

Fire Glass serves as a decorative topping for fire features, requiring enough to create a layer approximately 1 ½” to 2" in depth. For additional fill, use a material like Lava Rock beneath the Fire Glass, filling the bowl to the level of the fire ring.

Refer to the Product Page of your Fire Feature for information on the amount of Fire Glass it can hold. To prevent the Fire Glass from sinking below the Lava Rock, consider installing a screen material. Stucco lathe for ceilings is an effective screen material, readily available at local hardware stores. Once the screen is in place, simply pour the Fire Glass on top.
